A legacy along Lake Austin: Celebrating 20 years of iconic presence

As we bid farewell to a cherished client of our creative journey, we also celebrate a legacy brand that transcends mere signage. More than two decades ago, our firm had the honor of crafting a one-of-a-kind logo and sign program for Animal Allergy & Dermatology Center, a specialized veterinarian business known for their “itchy dog” sign, located along west end of the popular Lake Austin Boulevard.

Our esteemed client, Patrick R. Nichols, DVM, is now selling his business and entering the world of retirement. As he takes down that iconic “itchy dog” sign, he is not just removing a sign – he is unplugging a piece of Lake Austin nostalgia that has helped keep Austin weird.

As Patrick feels the sign is too dear to depart with, he’s is literally going to relocate the sign to his estate, to remind him of the joy his business and clients brought him over the years. “What your team created was always more to me than just a brand,” Patrick told us with deep emotion. “The ‘itchy dog’ & beautiful muted colors are permanently etched in my psyche. I think a lot of people traveling Lake Austin Blvd will miss seeing that monument sign. It definitely became part of the aura of Austin.”

As it graced the bustling street for 20 years, countless passersby pointed, smiled, and snapped photos, delighted by what affectionately became known as one of the coolest signs in town. It’s not just a mark of a business; it’s a symbol of the warmth, creativity, and unique charm that makes Austin, Texas unforgettably special.

To our dear Patrick and everyone who has shared in the joy of this creation, thank you for the memories and smiles.
