Teleos joins Purdue’s Band and Orchestra architectural movement, delivering visual sforzando’s throughout
Promoting students’ lifelong journey with music, the Purdue Board of Trustees approved the construction of Hagle Hall, a 3-story building dedicated to the Purdue Bands & Orchestras musical teaching and learning.
With nearly all of the Bands & Orchestras students majoring in every academic discipline at Purdue, the 1200+ music members have had world-renowned performances by 30+ ensembles, including the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band, Purdue Bands & Orchestras, each serving as the “Heartbeat of the University” and encouraging students to live a lifelong journey with music.
The $22 million, 37,500 square-foot facility had a total of 1,554 donors contributing to the project.
Initially hired to design the building program’s Donor Recognition, Purdue expanded Teleos’ design scope to include creating a historical tribute and large-scale storytelling graphics, in the form of custom designed digital wall coverings, throughout the gathering areas within the building. With over a thousand engaging historical photos, Teleos had no trouble finding imagery to work with.
Fun Facts:
• The process of finding the one image that would inspire future students in the recruiting, faculty and staff conference room, was like finding the needle in the haystack.
• The Donor Recognition wall incorporates a 50 year time capsule.
Marching Band Notable Alumni:
• Neil Armstrong (baritone, first man on the moon)
• Russell Games Slayter (tuba, inventor of fiberglass)
• Orville Redenbacher (tuba, founder of Orville Redenbacher popcorn)
